Salamol releiver issues.
Recently I have found my '
Salamol
cfc free' inhalers seems to lose the 'gas' very quickly and it is becoming very frustrating! Its been happening to my pumps the last year or two, I get only a couple of proper 'puffs' maybe about 8-10 and it seems the gas that propels the medicine runs out!

Compressed Inhalers
Usually switches between brands
Salamol
CFC or Air Salb. Can't remember going last time I've been going through so many so quickly. Just wish I could you my old ones. Is this the same in the rest of UK? What's your opinion of them? thanks.

Further Questions - I hope you don't mind
She is currently using a 'Fostair' inhaler, '
Salamol
' inhaler, Tiotropium and Acetylcysteine capsules - I've seen other posts where people are on different medications so am hoping my mums may get changed which will make an improvement. Any advice, reassurance or help would be greatly appreciated.

Grandma
She has severe COPD; she uses (or is supposed to use) Symbicort 400/12, Atrovent 20mcg, and
Salamol
100mcg, and has been offered home O2 multiple times and always refused. (I don't have COPD and I do not smoke either, and never have, never will. I do however have brittle asthma).

What are you all on?
Salamol
100mcg, 2 puffs if a bit tight or wheezy, otherwise move to Ventolin 100mcg, 2-10 puffs through spacer, or 2-4 puffs 4 times a day if I'm in the yellow zone. *** I don't have rescue Prednisolone for asthma, only for my latex allergy, because the nurses and doctors say that they really want

Newly diagnosed and Unsure of Myself
I took two extra puffs of my
salamol
as otherwise I felt as though I would not be able to get through it. Is this OK to take more of the
salamol
than is prescribed if you're struggling?

Asthma Attack 'n' Back (to A&E)
The pred was kicking in too by that point so all of that plus more
Salamol
through my spacer and some time just with the oxygen alone meant that I could go home a mere 3 hours after going in.

Free Prescriptions for Asthmatics?
Just for these, at the current recently revised rate of £8.20 per item (that in itself is kinda depressing because my
Salamol
is much cheaper than that) I would have to pay over £200 just for my asthma medications.

How can my lungs get worse so quickly?!?!
More
Salamol
(I prefer this to Ventolin). I ran out of Sere 125 about a week after I finished those so I stepped back down and bam, my lungs rebelled.

Somewhat belated introduction!
Within about 12 hours I could hardly breathe and had to use loads of my reliever (now
Salamol
). I made an urgent appointment and got some more, as well as some Clari again to help clear up the infections.

p.s. Roll on a few years and, of course, aspirin helps here and there but a worsening asthma means careful management with preventer and relievers, according to which has the least detrimental side-effects. https://www.facebook.com/aspirin2relief/
