Newly diagnosed - a couple of questions
I was prescribed
pulmicort
and ventoline. I was told to double the dosage of
pulmicort
for a few days until my symptoms disappear, and on the package it says for 3 days. Although my morning cough is gone, I still get a cough in the evening.

Living with PV for 47 years after father diagnosed days earlier.
Still prescribed
Pulmicort
, Serevent and albuterol. 3. I have been diagnosed with Sleep Apnea for several years so therefore use of a CPAP is in my daily routine. 4. My oxygen level was low so for several months I used O2 throughout the day. 5.

I went from suffering mild asthma, using my brown inhaler two puffs morning and then again at night and my blue inhaler a few times a week to needing the blue inhaler multiple times every day and using more and more puffs of my brown inhaler (budesonide
pulmicort
) sometimes up to 12 puffs a day.

Lung issues
And just maybe, I wouldn't be deteriorating as I am now, lower than 50%, just started
Pulmicort
Flexhaler, and am trying to remember to do breathing exercises.

Asthma, undiagnosis, low oxygen sats, help?
The only medication I take now is
pulmicort
as a reliever twice a day. Is 89 pretty low for oxygen levels? I'm still getting breathless every day and my asthma is triggered when I'm around things like aeorosols or smoke, but as I have no reliever I just have to wait until it gets better.

Prednisolone and weight gain
The GP changed my inhaler from
pulmicort
200 to symbicort 200 but this didn't help. My own GP was off sick so I then went to see a GP who had worked in the surgery for 30 years thinking I would be safe. I was wrong.

formoterol(laba) and quick relief
My consultant was the one to put me on this (also on
pulmicort
) and no one else at hospital seems to have a problem with this being my reliever. Confused!

side effects - what alternatives are left?
My doctor told me to take
pulmicort
for a total of 4 weeks as he thought my lungs were not yet ok, and then we see what we do next. I don't need to take any relievers anymore at the moment. I'm carefully optimistic.

Good control and inevitable suggestion of lower dose
Since the change I am on 1600mg
pulmicort
(inhaled steroid) and i take oxis 6 twice a day as my LABA. (and montelukast too) I also have oxis as and when I need it so I'm no longer on salbutamol.

Asthma, or panic?
I also received
pulmicort
and ventolin inhallations, after which I felt better. But two hours later the next attack. So I stayed the night and got many tests along the way, and had several more attacks.

Asthma/hypoadrenalism and generally tired of feeling ill
I have also been put back on a very low dose of steroid inhaler (
pulmicort
200), and my vomiting has calmed down and my appetite is slowly starting to return, although I am far from well.

Shortness of breath, ER visit
They had me nebulize a 1000mcg (I think it was mcg) of
Pulmicort
and also Berodual. Afterwards I still felt short of breath and went to sleep with my chest tight.

Hirsutism from steroid inhaler (Becotide)
My partner has suffered bad asthma since being little and has successfully used
Pulmicort
and oral Prednisolone throughout childhood (sometimes in life-saving circumstance) without any adverse effect.

Complete change of meds (to pulmicort and oxis)
He has doubled me dose going from 200/6 symbicort to 400
pulmicort
. Also have oxis as extra preventor and reliever. still going to carry salb just in case i am really bad, i know i would be nervous without it until I gain some confidence in oxis.

Asthma or no asthma?
I was on symbicort 200, put up to symbicort 400, then put onto a combination of
pulmicort
and oxis for a few months. I was also on two courses of steroid tablets, for a week each time, and none of these helped my breathlessness, cough, or chest pain.

Voice Problems
I also had the
Pulmicort
inhaler too (brown) but I'm not sure what age I was when I started taken this. 2.5 years ago my asthma took a turn for the worse and my doctor switched the
Pulmicort
for Symbicort (red) and my asthma became more manageable and is now very well controlled.

Good and bad news
Good news is that I can stop the
pulmicort
(budesonide) and nebulised colomycin. Bad news is my immune system appears to be shot to pieces and I have an infection I can't get rid and antibiotics have not helped.
