Interesting study on combination of statins and metformin in high-risk patient outcomes
My
PSA
has been steady at about 0.22 (+/- 0.02) for the past 2 years (with fairly frequent testing.) To my surprise - the last
PSA
read I had surprised me with a result of 0.15 - a fairly significant difference, enough difference for me to believe it might be real.

However my latest

Initial Phase 1 Data on MB-105 for Patients with PSCA-positive Castration Resistant Prostate Cancer

Question, each month with rising PSA, when do I do a pet scan
I believe this is causing my
PSA
to rise. I prefer to radiate, as I finally have my colitis under control with no more bleeding, it’s been a long road with that issue since last July What number
PSA
do I wait to before getting a pet scan?

PSA after salvage Brachy
an update for those that have asked questions about Salvage HDR Brachytherapy: I’m nearly 3 months out and had
PSA
test yesterday. Results were: 0.5. Using Abbott CMIA. This equals the nadir in 2014. Headed in right direction. Any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.

1, 3 or 6 month ADT?
My
PSA
went to undetectable. Seven years later my
PSA
crept up to seven and I was put on a monthly shot of Firmagon for life. My
PSA
is again undetectable and all scans are negative, as they have always been.

New diagnosis
Initial
PSA
test was a staggering 15.6. I'm average height, normal weight, 75 kg. A non smoker and generally fit and well with no other conditions, nor do I take any medication for anything else. This was just a random
PSA
blood test, instigated by me, no symptoms at all.

Baseline PSMA-Pet scan?
My
PSA
and Testosterone have been suppressed to <.1 and <4 for two years now. Isn't it pretty likely that the PSMA-Pet will be inactive for the most part?

ADT response and questions for MO
On 29 Jan
PSA
was 0.21 ug/L, testosterone was 0.4nmol/L - that looks like a very good response to me ... is it? 2. Also white blood cell and lymphocytes low, ALP and bilirubin high. Is that anything to follow up with MO? 3. I gather RT takes 3 or more months to show effects.

PSA Tests
Every 6 months, I get a standard
PSA
test (following surgery and radiation four years ago) and it is "undetectable". Under what conditions is an ultrasensitive
PSA
test useful?

So there you go - focus on the results of the scans not the

Lower Platelet count after HDR Brachytherapy
I follow up with the radiation oncologist and urologist every 6 months, and my
PSA
was <0.1 in April, but I don't think they are aware of my platelet count results, so this has never been an issue.

Opinions on my 2nd MRI results
Elevated
PSA
, 7.1.
PSA
trend not provided. TECHNIQUE: Using a 3 Tesla MRI and a phased array coil, high resolution, small field-of-view imaging sequences: axial T2, sagittal T2, oblique coronal T2, multiple b-value diffusion.

Return of Armpit Odor - Yikes!!!
Due shortly for blood panel including
PSA
. However, I have never had a testosterone test, that I recall. Could the return of odor suggest the return of testosterone? I'm actually "very concerned" . . .

How do you know if radiation treatment worked?
For 9 months post radiation
PSA
has been not been detectable and it has now risen to 0.04. T is in the normal range. All other blood works were normal. Meet with my medical oncologist’s PA last week and she said it was not an issue. Just trying to confirm that.

Is it worth it?
I went to get my testosterone checked and it was slightly low but the doctor said before he prescribed T he wanted to do a
PSA
test. My
PSA
was 8, so he told me no sex or biking for 10 days and we retested and it was down to 5 which he said was still high. I'm 64.

A quick introduction
PSA
had come down to 0.78. I see my MO again on January 5th and we will determine where we go from here, I supposed based on the results of my blood “labs.” I am grateful for this group and for all of you who post real-life experiences here.

How long has Olaparib worked for you?
I've been on Olaparib for 20 months and my
PSA
has dropped from 10 to 1.5. It has started to rise again and is now 4.2. I'm BRCA2 mutation. I'm wondering how long Olaparib has worked for other people. Thanks.
