Hiya, I'm on warfarin and was talking to the doctor today who asked why I wasn't on one of the new meds. I've been on warfarin for 9 yrs, and it is a pain, but had noyt asked about the other drugs due to their being irreversible. Does anyone here with APS have any experience with the new medicaion?

Took 1

How can AF get worse ?
I'm stable and on Bisoprolol and
Pradaxa
, so my hearts in the right rhythm and my blood cant clot, so how can it get worse? I had one massive attack last Sept and am doing really well, just the odd blip after drinking more than 2 glasses of wine, so I don't do that anymore.

Mis diagnosed?
I'm taking
Pradaxa
and Bisopropol 10 mg. Is it the meds working excellently or do I need a second opinion? I read posts on here and I'm either truly lucky or misdiagnosed. I can get out of breath walking up hill, but is that because of the meds?

AFib and breast cancer
I'm on a full range of meds including
Pradaxa
, verapamil, digoxin, ramipril and omeprazole. A routine mammogram in December showed up a suspicious area and unfortunately this week I have been diagnosed with invasive breast cancer so surgery for that has to take priority over the ablation.

Pradaxa v Warfarin??GP wants to change my medication.
I've recently been diagnosed with Proxy AF and have been put on
Pradaxa
by the specialist. Recently I had a phone call at home from the GP,s office asking why I had been put on
Pradaxa
? All I knew was that this was temporary until I have the electric treatment.

NOACs and operations : a warning
I had written a list of my medication and handed it to her. 2x 150mg
Pradaxa
NOAC. 1x2.5mg Bisoprolol. 1x20mg Atorvastatin. She thought that I took 300 mg of
Pradaxa
in one go and I had to explain that one capsule was taken per 12 hours.

Ablation - Caused Pulmonary Embolism
Pradaxa
was suppose to keep the blood thinned so that clots did not form. Ugh.

Blood thinners
I was recently put on
Pradaxa
along with Flecainide and Altenolol instead of taking as a pill in a pocket as I have had 6 episodes of A fib over the past 2 years with the episodes coming closer in time.In all cases, I have been completely aware of my episodes.

A love letter from and for the heart 💜
She put me on a 2nd blocker on top of fhe Sotalol I take and on
Pradaxa
, a blood thinner and planned a cardioversion in 4 weeks time. It was a week of hell for me - exhaustion, debilitating fatigue. wildly fluctuating pulse, (low 100's up as high as 160).

New Year wishes, my diagnosis and Pradaxa.
I am to stop the
Pradaxa
72 hours in advance of the operation. It was a huge relief to meet a doctor who understood my problems. But I have to ask, does it normally take 86 weeks to diagnose slipped discs?

Shortage of Dabigatran?
(
Pradaxa
).I did this last Wednesday and was told it would be here for Friday. I went today,Saturday,to collect the prescription and was told that due to manufacturing issues there wholesaler/supplier had run-out and they only had 4 capsules on the premises! Has anyone also heard this?

Decided on an ablation
I am also on
Pradaxa
which a tolerate quite well. I'm having more frequent episodes though and am worried that it's only going to get worse. Elected today to have an ablation because I don't want to go on anti-arrithmics and be on these powerful meds for the rest of my life.

Pradaxa (Dabigatran)
Hi, I have had AF diognosed approx 20 years ago, having just turned 65 I have been put on the anticoagulant
Pradaxa
. Within a couple of weeks I experienced painful swollen knuckles in my hands and also aching elbow, shoulder and neck joints, it's hard not to think it is connected to the drug!
