Megestrol

Started on Megestrol Acetate back in April, really reduced the side effects of ADT for me. My figure also looks about the as before treatment. I had a trans-rectal prostate biopsy (Nov. '23) that revealed Gleason score 4+3 = 7, 4+4 = 8 and 4+5 = 9 involving 12 of 12 cores, adenocarcinoma.

I am taking megestrol acetate (a progesterone sort of thing?) and have also been eating a "lot" of cannabis candy before going to sleep and when i wake up. My fucking insurance company denied coverage and it caused a supply gap.

Told to go off 2 of COPD drugs and PCP prescribed appetite enhancer, Megestrol which I'd just recv'd Sat before Mon's apptmt. for 2 months in order for Cortisol testing.

Good evening ladies , As I can not have chemotherapy due to low neutrophils and tired bone marrow , my oncologist suggested hormonal therapy drug Megestrol , any experience with this drug please ? Many thanks

My urologist prescribed megestrol 20mg 2x daily for hot-flashes. I'm on about day 4 of them. So far no huge side-effects and perhaps the hot-flashes are lessened.

•Either Ethinyl Estradiol, Megace (Megestrol Acetate), or Halotestin (Fluoxymesterone). Chemotherapy is usually prescribed after endocrine therapies have stopped working, or a clinical trial may also be a consideration.

Megestrol Oral suspension (40mg) has been prescribed for lack of appetite and has been effective. A wheelchair was prescribed and obtained.
