Lomustine

They now want to do the remaining three months of chemotherapy using Lomustine as they say Temozolomide was not effective. He is due to start using Lomustine very soon. There has been one clinical trial (a small one) for people with recurrent GBM using Temozolomide and Sativex (a spray).

Recent scan showed regrowth and the oncologist is recommending lomustine and avastin. Does anyone have experience of lomustine and what are the side effects? Thanks so much for reading

We have been given some info about PCV combination of the chemotherapy drugs procarbazine, lomustine (CCNU) and vincristine as a possible treatment but Mums consultant said the side effects are pretty crappy and also second line chemo isn’t always as effective.

One of the options for treatment we have been asked to consider is Lomustine chemo in conjunction with Avastin. Avastin side effects for someone in my wife's age range look pretty horrendous.
