Anyone on Gilotrif/Afatinib?
Hi. My mom just started a new treatment pill called Gilotrif this week. She took Targrisso and had to stop due to side effects and disease progression it didn’t help her at all. She’s done 6 rounds of chemotherapy and she recently had “moderate disease progression” after her 1 maintence chemo round.

Are you receiving or have you received immunotherapy for non small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in the last 12 months?
Please note: Tarceva,
Giotrif
and Iressa are considered targeted therapies; NSCLC patients who have had targeted therapy but have not yet had immunotherapy will not meet inclusion criteria for this study."

New patient-driven group for EGFR patients with resistance to targeted treatment
In case anyone has been wondering what I've been doing lately, I've been working on this project with 3 other EGFR+ lung cancer patients. A new patient-driven group is forming for lung cancer patients with EGFR mutations who have developed resistance to at least one EGFR targeted treatment drug. This

Gilotrif Afitanib is a joke
The highest doseage of this drug (40mg) turned my well-respected body literally into a garbage dump. So the doctor tried me on the 30mg version which was worse in every respect than the 40mg. My skin was falling off and I looked like a leper. I was going to go completely off of all of it and the doctor

Giotrif afartinib and mouth sores
my husband is one week and 2 days into this targeted therapy for lung cancer and his mouth is so sore. Has anyone experience of managing this or any knowledge of whether the side effects ease in time ? Thank you Tracey
