,  strongly upregulated the expression of Nurr1 in DA neurons. 1  To confirmed that PPARα was indeed involved in the expression of Nurr1, oral administration of gemfibrozil increased Nurr1 expression in vivo in nigra of wild-type, but not PPARα knockout  mice.

These findings highlight the importance of the PPARa-dependent astro-glial GDNF pathway in gemfibrozil-mediated protection of dopaminergic neurons in an animal model of PD and suggest the possible therapeutic use of gemfibrozil in PD patients."

I wanted too, and not to mention I take gemfibrozil to lower my cholesterol but I haven’t been taking that either. I don’t know how I’m still standing, here writing this now but I just don’t want to feel alone on this. I got a supportive family but they don’t understand.
