daughter with atypical asthma?
She is on montelukast, fairly high doses of
fluticasone
plus seretide, and has 2 to 6 episodes per year where she is treated for a chest infection. Now, her new GP who has a special interest in asthma has said that she may be over medicated and have atypical asthma.

The doctor has decided its time they did something to prevent the asthma flare ups and given her a
Fluticasone
inhaler. I have been reading the leaflet and stuff online about it and its not normally given to children under 4 and if it is they height shoud be monitor.

Flixotide and adrenal suppression
I have been well controlled on
fluticasone
for many many years so am a bit cautious abt changing to another inhaled steroid but will try it if there is a chance that my adrenals might recover. Have any of you changed from flixotide (
fluticasone
) to another inhaled steroid ?

New user - Spiriva/tiotropium and a locum doctor
My asthma peaked when I was about 11 or 12, but had been fairly well controlled with salbutamol and
fluticasone
until earlier this year. Since July I've had 7 courses of prednisolone, and we can't seem to identify the trigger(s).

Advice needed please about options & where next, on step 4 management?
I've montelukast, Seretide Accuhaler (
fluticasone
& salmeterol) 250 twice a day, mucho Ventolin with spacer, fexonfenadine 180. Apart from higher dose/longer course steroids and/or hospital referral, is there any other options? Never been on Symbicort for example or theophylline?

Advair /Evohaler anyone use it?
I also saw its called
fluticasone
, so forgive me if i am not getting it right. I was advised by my asthma educator to switch to this which is the diskus type, cause she feels it would help me more.

Does anyone else get this?
Flovent is the
Fluticasone
or Flixotide steriod element. Atrovent is a brand name for ipratropium. Anyway, it seems you are seeing your doctor about this but perhaps best go back and maybe see another. A lot of people here also have problems with no wheeze and doctors.

When to start pred/ theophylline
I'm on Seretide (
Fluticasone
/Salmeterol) and Montelukast. Having thought about his answer for a few weeks, I think he's right for a few reasons - and I dont think I'm bad enough (yet). I occasionally have days without using ventolin, but certainly use it most days.
