Afib or something else
A few months ago my Cardiologist told me to stop taking
Flecainide
daily, and switch to Pill in the Pocket. This morning I woke, to an irregular heartbeat. Normally when I have Afib I definitely feel it, and I also feel a bit lightheaded. Today is different.

Regular double beats?
Afternoon, I've been on 50mg
flecainide
and 2.5mg bisoprolol twice daily, however due to cold extremities and in consultation with the cardiology depart we tried Adizem in February but after a few weeks that seemed to make things worse, and then switched to 3.25mg Carvedilol on 14th April.

Feeling low after stopping meds.
Have been on a beta blocker for that long, and then
flecainide
was added about 7 years ago. I had a cardiac ablation in October 22. After 4 months I came off flec slowly over 5 weeks then stopped metoprolol . It is now 5 weeks off all meds except apixaban.

Flecainide
Hi, The Cardiologist has put me on the list for an ablation and has increased my
Flecainide
from 100mg twice a day to 150mg each time. The waiting list for ablation is approx one year. Has anyone had experience of being on this dose for a prolonged period of time? Thanks Mike

Newly diagnosed Afib
Now on Diltiazem and Eloquis plus
flecainide
if it breaks through. Wearing a holter monitor for 14 days. Does anyone have positive stories of still having an active and good life? I’m just so tired and anxious right now. Afraid to venture out or do anything.

Preparing Q's on Flecainide for cardiologist check-up this month, can you help?
Should I push the cardiologist hard to come off the
Flecainide
, he will no doubt say don't rock the boat 🤔?? Any comments much appreciated.

Iron Infusion
Could be a coincidence, but very unusual for me to get episodes with my daily dose of
Flecainide
. FWIW I do not have anemia (low hemoglobin) but just low iron (ferritin). Jim

AF getting worse
I am on the waiting list for an ablation as we are not sure the
Flecainide
is working as it takes 3 to 4 hours to resolve an episode, sometimes 11 hours. The EP did offer to try the Flec 50mg twice daily and I wonder whether it would be beneficial to try this until the ablation.

Foot/leg numbness after 3 yrs on flecainide?
, and the neurologist said "It's the
flecainide
causing the numbness--try to take as little as possible." I was a bit doubtful. My GP has never heard of this, and it's listed online as "not common" as a flec side effect.

Epsom Salt and essential oils foot soak query
. 🤦♀️ I take
flecainide
, bisoprolol, warfarin and levothyroxine. Do foot soaks mean you absorb a lot of the essential oils? As I think some of these are contra indicated on my meds. Or does it not really matter too much. They smell divine!!

Supra Ventricular Ectopy
I have
flecainide
as a PIP. I haven't had a serious (more than a few minutes) of AFIB in about 18 months. I've learned that dehydration and steroids are triggers for me. I'm 69 years old and retired.

Song and Dance ?
Typical set of drugs:
flecainide
that luckily still gets me out of the afib episodes (normally takes 3 hours - 2 days), Eliquis as blood thinner etc. Afib has affected my life in a tremendously negative way, for instance no fun with any sport when heart is in afib so much.

Flecainide side effect I hadn’t expected!
I have finally had to give in and start taking
Flecainide
albeit at a low dose with a larger dose as a PIP option.

Experience with discontinuing 1-C antiarrhythmics (flecainide or propafenone)
After 2+ years of therapy, because of recently discovered structural damage to my heart, I have been advised to discontinue my propafenone. I am not happy with this as the control of my afib has been very good. I have lost 37lb (>15% body weight) and hope that will benefit my previous afib burden.

Short episode five months after ablation.
From that point I was told to stop
Flecainide
and then stop Bisoprolol in a further two months. Two days ago, I had a short AF episode just after getting up and taking meds. It was quite different from previous episodes which always started in the evening and lasted for around 12 hours.

Living with AF...and then what?
Cardiologist washed his hands and passed back to GP recommending
flecainide
if it gets worse. Maybe my poor old brain hasn't quite grasped it all, but what isn't too clear to me is what do I do at the next AF episode (assuming it's pretty much same as the ones before)? Nothing?

Confused (like a lot of us!)
After an Afib episode when I ended up calling an ambulance, the cardio put me on
Flecainide
2x50mg daily, without actually seeing me. It has worked (touch wood) and I no longer have Afib episodes. A friend who also discovered he had Afib was immediately sent for an ablation.

Whatever happened to the pill in the pocket?
I would love to have something I could take, but they tell me that
flecainide
(which my doctor husband used to take) is no longer used and just to take a beta blocker and see if it helps. I am anti-coagulated. Any thoughts?
