Jevtana failing?
We were so hopeful for jevtana, as he did so well on taxotere (
docetaxel
) 😔 Thank you all. I really value all of your thoughts and experiences. 🤍

Treatment opinions for my father in India
I am worried that we'd miss a chance to use chemo/
docetaxel
on currently castrate sensitive cancer. * One oncologist suggested that we might add xytiga 4-6 months down the line . Not sure what that is about. * I don't trust radiologists here to do SBRT so we are ok with IMRT.

Regional or metastatic? Proton + ADT +???
At last meeting he mentioned “possibly” using
docetaxel
(6 doses, 1 x every 3 mo.) He has osteopenia in 1 hip and osteoporosis in other hip—didn’t know this before the DEXA scan; his primary put him on Boniva. Is this good enough or does he need one of the bone strengthening meds mentioned here?

On Cabazitaxel, PSA started increasing......PSA->15 (1 Feb 21)->13.64 (#post 3 cycle, 5 April)->15.3 (#6 cycle, 14 June)
We are currently on
Cabazitaxel (post Abireterone->
(10 cycle)). completed 6 cycles, PSA started increasing however Dr. suggested to complete 10 cycles as disease seems stable : PSA->15(1 Feb 21)->13.64 (#post 3 cycle 5 April)->15.3 (#6 cycle 14 June). 1.

I think I will be coming off of Xeloda, which I have loved….
…but I am becoming very short of breath, and think that it may have stopped working. I have a CT scan tomorrow, and get to see my doctor Thursday, then may start a new treatment Friday, depending on the scan. My question is what have other people started taking once Xeloda failed them? My doctor says

Life After Chemo???
Well, I am now through 3 infusions of
Docetaxel
. Glad all of you strongly recommended it for me. First 7 days awful, next 7 days not too bad and the last 7 days almost normal. Interim numbers are going down - PSA 15.5 to 2.7 and ALP 235 to 125. Three more sessions to go.

First major pathological fracture
We’ve done
Docetaxel
(3 rounds, stopped due to pulmonary edema and PCP pneumonia), Zytiga, Xtandi, Xofigo, and Lynparza . Dr would like him to try Cabazitaxel but husband is not sure given his bad experience with
Docetaxel
. Dr also considering provenge.

Keytruda, a question probably no one can answer.
He has done
Docetaxel
early on so this would probably be cabazitaxel. It breaks our hearts to see him so depressed. He is young only in his 50s with a young family. He has a very supportive wife and lots of family and friends who love him.

CT Scan 3 years into mCRPCa
I just finished my 6th
docetaxel
course of 10 (yeah, they do get a bit rougher as it goes on) and got CT scans today. MO's were curious as my PSA has simply been fluctuating around 50 during the chemo (+-10).

Under 50 - 3 Years out with M1b disease - an update!
My own story started with a relatively low PSA 3 years ago of bouncing around 3 with 3 bone mets spine + hips and after much research and discussion, elected to have a comprehensive kitchen sink treatment of adt /
Docetaxel
/ RP followed by SBRT to the 3 mets all within 6 months of dx.

Optimal Chemo-Hormonal Sequencing for MCRPC Maybe Taxotere - Zytiga - Jevtana - Xtandi
The study included two different groups: Group A (80 men) were given
docetaxel
chemotherapy (Taxotere) followed by one of the second-line hormonal therapies: either abiraterone (Zytiga) or enzalutamide (Xtandi) Group B (32 men) were given a second-line hormonal therapy then followed by Taxotere

BRCA2 mutation and PARP inhibitor in the castration sensitive
I had been aiming for a more aggressive approach with long-term ADT perhaps transdermal estrogen, plus either Zytiga or
Docetaxel
. However, after reading the thread and some studies, I understand that using a PARP inhibitor would eliminate the need for all of these making my choice rather easy.
