Affect of tummy upsets on anti-coagulants,
I was wondering what effect it has on the absorption of anti-coagulants, should something cause you to have diarrhoea - how long does it take after ingestion does it take something like an Eliquis tablet to become effective ?

Performance anxiety
I'm just unable to do public speaking. When I try my mind becomes black and start having palpitations and trembling. How can I overcome this? I'm recovered alcoholic and want to be able to spread substance abuse awareness in my community but can't due to my performance anxiety. It has been with me all

Introducing myself
I will be 55 soon and developed Afib a year ago in November. I am not overweight, exercise regularly, eat well, hardly drink, non smoker and not taking any medication. I have low Afib. My heart rate fluctuates under 100 mostly. I have been having it every two months (6-8 weeks), with one 4 week exception

2 years of AFib and stop
After being in continuous AFib since 18th October 2021, when diagnosed with AFib, having 2 failed Cardioversions, speak with several doctors at A & E when taken in, and the some Cardiologists, yesterday my AFib stopped! Today I have woken up and no AFib, feels strange. I'm just wondering if it because

A fib Triggers
My husband has paroxysmal A fib. This started after cardiac damage from chemo 4 years ago. He has had 2 ablations, 2 cardioversion and a pharmacy of meds. He is only 62. He went 5 weeks without AFib. Was feeling good. Boom! Tachycardia. Question. We keep trying to find triggers. Only thing

Heart di6
At 36 I had a massive heart attack. 4 years later a stroke I recovered. My heart is enlarged. I had afib given pills and ablation. It worked for 3 years. My afib is back and I am waiting to be treated. I still play racquetball twice a week and lift weights 3 days. I am 61 now. I have worked out since

In 19 days its a year later....
In 19 days time it will be a year ago my accident happened. I still ask myself what's wrong with me but I know what happened, I know what I have came through and I know the person I am today. I have made, in my opinion, a decent recovery but still working on it. I am a different person for my family

First time posting. I have stage IVB PC, which was discovered via a hernia procedure in November 2022. I completed 1 month of ADT with no side effects and my PSA dropped to 1.0. Met with my Oncologist today and he proposed changing my treatment to mirror the CHAARTED clinical trial (Lupron+Docetaxel

A case study post bariatric surgery
For anyone who has access to twitter, this case study posted yesterday might be of some interest. Probably as much for the discussion as the original case. (Don't get too excited! It is just another case where the origination of the problem doesn't get blamed. As I see it, the cause was iatrogenic and

I took mirtazapine and it made me suicidal. I feel I have an urge to kill myself but it was unconscious I don't know how to describe it. But I felt it in a really bad way. Now, my gp gave me valdoxan. Does anyone use it and if you can share experience please do. I'm scared to take them and the same

LINQ ECG implant - what follow up have people had.
Hi everyone with or similar LINQ ECG implant fitted. My LINQ device was fitted in February of this year. In May I received a telephone call from the cardiology team, who I have not met, that an Afib event was detected and a medication change to EDOXABAN was prescribed. I have not had any further

Amiodarone Report
Is Amiodarone the drug of last resort, which produces terrible side effects. Or The best drug for arrythmia? My consultant says that it will improve the chance of a successful cardioversion and will help keep my heart in sinus rhythm afterwards. Amiodarone has already improved my heart significantly

raising the topic of a hormone holiday after July
visit to London MO today for more hormones ( switched to 3 month Zolodex because last months Degarelix injection is still a nasty swollen red lump on my stomach) I picked up my Apalutamide and had blood tests as ever with a face to face consult. I decided to ‘soft land’ the subject of a hormone holiday

Rising resting HR
Not so much an AFib post, but 6 weeks after a successful cardioversion I'm keeping a very close eye on my HR and this week it seems to be rather elevated. Each morning I wake and check my overnight resting HR according to my Fitbit. Whereas last week and previous I'd be at 60bpm or just below while sleeping
