Xeloda Vs Generic brand side effect differences
Hello fellow thrivers and fighters, My current line of treatment is
Capecitabine
, I've been on it for about three months and after a shaky start I'm getting used to it. My onc already reduced the dosage once due to painful hand and foot syndrome, but it's still a real issue for me.

Holiday inspiration!
I am from the UK, and was crushed when I had to cancel my planned silver wedding anniversary trip to New England twice, the first time because of the pandemic, and in October last year because of progression and switching to oral chemotherapy (
Capecitabine
/Xeloda).

Capecitabine - new treatment
Hi all MRI shows good response to liver and femur on fulvestrant and zometa, but highlighted an underarm issue a month or so ago. Following guided core biopsy and comparing last MRI to most recent one, onc decided to switch to Cape. My 3rd line of treatment since 2020, she said I could continue on fulvestrant

Please those who were given Xeloda for tumors in the liver that keep growing.
I would probably estimate 4-6 months from now, if the
is ineffective. Of course, there could be a complication at any time – no one can predict the future, but I’m hoping for the best. Hope this is helpful, Associate Director Division of Hematology/Oncology

New primary Breast Cancer! Grade three lobular triple negative! Unrelated to my MBC. Time frame for surgery?
Ironically the
Capecitabine
I am on is working well and I am feeling good, besides the burning type pain/discomfort in my breast. I seem to be doing this whole BC thing in reverse! What a rollercoaster ride! 🤦♀️ Vicki

starting Xeloda (capecitabine)
I’m looking for some “positive “ input from anyone who has been on Xeloda. Hopefully there is someone who can give me some insight in to what to expect. And how long you were on it. I have been on Ibrance (4 years) and Hormonal treatment for a total of 5 years. My last treatment was Tamoxifen. After

Feedback on Trodelvy
My first chemo was
capecitabine
but the disease progressed rapidly to the lungs and liver, I was changed to Gemcarbo but the cancer continued to grow and they also found spots on the spine. Then EC for 3 cycles and now hopefully starting Trodelvy next week. Thanks in advance. x

Carboplatin, rough for you or not?
My beautiful wife is only 39, her cancer started to progress on
Capecitabine
so we have just started (second cycle) if IV Carboplatin and Herceptin injection. She had her first infusion after a big event, surgical procedure and a three week spell in bed so it was difficult to gauge the results.

New treatment coming our way!
Hi all, My wife has seen some progression on
Capecitabine
so we are moving! Our UK Onc is now suggesting Herceptin and Carboplatin. I'm interested as it's not a suggested "line" of treatment and the Herceptin seems to be directed at her newly discovered HER2 positive status.

2nd opinion about treatment change?
My oncologist has suggested changing my treatment once again to
Capecitabine
, which she told me is my last effective line of oral treatment before IV chemo. Do you think I should try to get another opinion from another hospital? Even if it means waiting some time before getting it?

Reply to jersey-jazz. I thought you might also be interested in my medical history.
Another eleven months, switched to
Capecitabine
. Every two to three months she ordered CAT scan to restating. Since I had some lumps on chest wall, it’s also very easy to distinguish if I have progression or not.

Same as Carole, “new....well sort of ; )”
Since then, I have had eleven different treatments (Letrozole, Palbociclib, Fulvestrant,
Capecitabine
, Eribulin, Navelbine, etc.) and none of them worked more than a year. Two years after genetic testing, they suddenly informed me I am BRCA1 mutation.

Scan update
I hope
Capecitabine
works for a long time. Our ONC has already suggested Gemcitabine and carboplatin moving forwards but we think we should stick to
Capecitabine
for a while, maybe up the doseage (currently low at 1000mg/m) and monitor symptoms and scan in March.

Some good news for Xmas!
Susie is taking oral
Capecitabine
, cannabis oil over 1g per day, Fenben and Menben (all if these cross the blood brain barrier do should help and seem to be!) Plus a host of supplements. So we are cleared to spend a Xmas together as a little family.

Quick poll "how long did Capecitabine (Xeolda) work for you"?
Hi, Cabectabine is working well for Susie ATM. Million Dollar question, what's the typical response time? A quick one line answer would be great for me, thank you in advance. Leo XXX ❤️

WBRT?
They first of all said wait to see if
Capecitabine
worked then came back to say she should have WBRT. I've read Anne's book about the different treatments but I'm curious to see if anyone here has personal experience? Was it bad? Did you loose any memory?

Tips on Capecitabine please?
I've popped up a few times whilst making the difficult decision along with my wife, Susie (TNBC, with mets to lung) to start
Capecitabine
. We are just having the DPD blood test. Susie is really struggling, constant cough, always tired and can't breathe properly now, it's horrible.

Starting Abraxane and Atezulizumab.
We were talked out of
Capecitabine
as first line as the immunotherapy has shown good long term results. We are not confident about the Abraxane as during treatment for breast cancer in 2018, the Taxenes family seemed to make the lump grow.
