New Preventeter

Beclometasone preventer inhaler and side effects
Hi Everyone Has anyone noticed any side-effects using Beclometasone 100 inhaler. I take 2 puffs in the morning and two puffs in the evening. My asthma seems to be getting better slowly, after 8 weeks. The doctor increased my dosage of beclometasone two days ago to the 2 puffs in the morning and 2 puffs

Salmeterol - had side effects
Just came back from the docs. He prescribed Salmeterol last Friday, but by Sunday I was having worse attacks, dizzines and nausea, so went back today. He took me straight off it. These are rare side effects (less than 1 in 10000 people experience them apparently). I'm now on a doubled up dose of Beclometasone

Rapid acceleration of symptoms after diagnosis
I was diagnosed with adult onset asthma (mild) about 6 months ago, and since then I've gone from using Salbutamol, to using Beclometasone, and today have had salmeterol inhaler added to the collection. Seems that since diagnosis my respiratory health has declined rapidly. Has anyone else experienced

Would welcome some advice..
Hello all, I am seeking advice from you guys and gals so I hope you will take a few minutes to read through this and then give me your thoughts. Several years ago I used to suffer from a tight chest, mainly in the sternum area but also the ribs occasionally - in fact, I think I have been suffering

First appointment with asthma clinic
I'm getting antsy because I've finally booked in with my GP's asthma clinic, and I'm really nervous that the practice nurse will be pants. My asthma's not bad, but it's not fabulously well managed. I was loosely diagnosed just over a year ago, and I've had no kind of review or plan or anything since

Any of you medic trained know what is in Qvar apart from beclomethasone. Doc reckons I had an allergic reaction to it when he started me on it at the weekend. My sinuses hurt, skin eyes and ears itched, neck went red and my lungs felt as if they were burning inside. I have been taking becotide for

Beclometasone and Pain
I am at a loss as to how to outline all my issues but here goes...hoping someone can advise me! In May 2010, I was diagnosed with asthma and since then I have tried various inhalers. Last November, I suffered an particularly bad chest infection and coughed for more than two months. I know I let it

long term use of inhalers? is it safe?
Being fairly new to the asthma diagnosis, despite a very very long history of lung problems (going back 32 years in fact) i'm just wondering what the effects of long term inhaler use if any may be. I'm currently on beclomethasone, serevent and salbutamol due to asthma triggered by highly allergic reaction

New inhaler
Hi guys, Been to the docs again today after seeing the nurse a while back. It seems that my usual medication isn't having the 'desired' effects and I have now been given a different inhaler to replace my Beclometasone inhaler. Im quite fed up with it right now-Im out of breath just walking up the stairs

Ban of CFC Beclometasone inhalers - clenil modulite, salmeterol.
Asthma sufferers uch as myself will know this inhaler as 'the brown one' - the one with the steroids. I have been using a similar inhaler to this all my life - usage being twice in the morning and twice at night. However, I was recently pescribed a new inhaler on my repeat pescription (clenil modulite

newly diagnosed and suffering from the dreaded cold!
Hi Everyone! I've just been diagnosed with asthma a few weeks ago despite having had lung problems on and off for the vast majority of my life! I was born with bronchial pneumonia, then had acute childhood bronchitis up until 16. Then from my early twenties I went through a spate of chest infections

Food additives
I read I scary article on artificial food additives recently, which said that apparently several have possible links with asthma/respiratory problems.
