Any suggestions?
Any help for permanent afib after having three cardioversions which worked for the past two years last one only lasted two weeks. Taken off Multaq and on Lopressor 100 am & pm plus eliquis. Told ablation would more than likely not be successful. Should I get a second opinion. Do not feel that great

How safe is taking Apixaban ?
Hello, I am 65 still working and reasonably fit , and have permanent Afib but so far very few symptoms. I take 2.5 mg of Bisoprolol a day. I have had Afib on and off for around 10 years As part of the great NHS system, I was told I needed to be on Apixaban However, the side effects horrify me Should

Bisoprolol & Apixaban
Early sixties. Coming up to two years when I had peridarditis which developed into permanent afib until I had cardio version four months later. Been mostly clear since then but occasional bursts of arrythmia, typically early beats. Think I was stressed out but have also given up alcohol and now exercising

Hello all, Big cardio surgery history, last one 25 years ago, still here thanks to surgeons who were willing to take risks where others weren't! Developed AFib 5 years ago. Had a cryo, success for 2 years then a redo RF, success for 18 months but also had more cardio versions that you can shake a stick

afib and blood pressure
Hello, does anybody else's blood pressure get high when in afib? I had to call the paramedics yesterday because when I took my BP it was 143/112 with HR of 54 and it kind of freaked me out why it was so high with a normal HR, so I took it again after a few minutes and it was 150/101 with a HR of 101,

flutter not fibrillation
Hi all I have paid to see an EP (privately) today who has confirmed 100% I have atrial flutter and no fibrillation? Anyone else just have flutter? He has recommended an ablation to sort it out and told me to stop taking Flecainide which makes me nervous. He says it probably isn’t doing much and could

Sleep Apnea and afib
Greetings across the pond........I'm 81 and have been dealing with afib for 11years. I had my first ablation 2 weeks ago and was back in afib 4 days later. Today I had a cardioversion which was successful; and of course, I hope it lasts. The team who administered the procedure reported that sleep apnea

Exercise
I'm hoping someone can help me with the answer to this please. I have paroxysmal atrial fibrillation and one of my main triggers is exercise. However, exercise is also recommended lose weight, get healthy and reduce episodes. How can I increase exercise if it's a trigger? I am even reading The AFib Cure

How long before ablation to start Edoxaban?
Morning all. There seems to have been a flurry of recent posts about anticoagulants. And here’s another question from me. Does anyone know how long before my ablation I need to take the Edoxaban I’ve been prescribed? I know some years ago, when preparing for a cardioversion, they said to take the anticoagulant

can heart function improve ?
After my husbands stroke seven months ago he was diagnosed with stage 2 heart failure . I asked the arrhythmia nurse if there was a chance he could have another eco cardiogram to see if this had improved because how do we know how much exercise is safe etc if we don’t know this ? She just sort of stared

Hi, Recently started back on Bisoprolol for palpitations/PVCs after 7yrs off. I'm on low dose, 1.25mg but they've really calmed down what were pretty uncomfortable symptoms (3 A&E visits in one weekend!) Anyhow, have a holter monitor booked for next week and not sure whether to stop the Bisoprolol or

Is it a choice? Pacemaker v Implanted defibrillator?
Hi, it's #chinkoflight here with an update. Things are moving on. I'm in coronary care, and the evidence for my fainting whilst running story has now shown an arrthymia at the time of the fall, effectively stopping my heart functioning, leading to the drop in blood pressure and the syncope event. It's

Experience with amiodarone
Hi, I have had 2 previous ablations for paroxysmal atrial fibrillation and previously on flecainide bisoprolol pravastatin and apixaban. I have had episodes of AF and more recently atrial flutter. My arrhythmia nurse took me off flecainide because of the atrial flutter and put on solatol which didn’t
