Low testosterone / PSA failure / risk of death.
Given prolonged survival when
abiraterone
or docetaxel is added to ADT in men with castrate-sensitive metastatic PC and possibly localized high-risk PC provides a rationale supporting their use with ADT in men with low testosterone in the setting of a phase 2 trial.

Thanks!
Possible
Abiraterone
+Olaparib trial participation if my bone biopsy is a match Changed my diet. Eliminated eggs, most dairy. Organic whenever possible. Can't do the vegan thing so just eating smarter. Lots of exercise. Strength and aerobic.

One or the other?
Matthew Sydes at ESMO 2017 indicate that docetaxel and
abiraterone
/prednisone are equivalent in terms of providing survival benefit. The costs and side effects are quite different. Of course what do I know?

Letting the cat out of the bag with my grandchildren.
As some of you may remember, I was diagnosed 6 years ago with stage 4, but due to my medication (
Abiraterone
) I have done remarkably well and I’m still in pretty good shape. The time has now come to tell them.

Supraphysiologic Testosterone Therapy for PCa. BAT.
"BAT is currently being tested in a large (n = 180) randomized trial (NCT02286921; TRANSFORMER) in asymptomatic mCRPC patients who have failed on
abiraterone
. In this study, BAT is being compared with ENZ with a primary end point of progression-free survival (PFS).

Author information Abstract PURPOSE: In ongoing clinical research on metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) treatment, the potential enhanced efficacy of the combination of taxanes with AR-targeted agents, i.e. enzalutamide and
abiraterone
, is currently being explored.

Adt + abiraterone. Adding docetraxel? Adding metformin ?
I am afraid the chemio could be too hard on him and am hoping the
abiraterone
can be enough for now. I would love to get your advice on this. On a side note, it seems adding Metformin is a no brainer with his adt treatment.

Do we need a revision of advanced prostate cancer overall survival statistics?
we're all familiar with the often stated figures of only 30% of men with advanced pc will survive 5 years or that median life expectancy is generally 3-5 years, however I wonder given the recent developments in treatment - not least the change in the standard of care to introduce early docetaxel and/or

Abiraterone & Milk Thistle not a good combo
Word back: milk thistle might inhibit the metabolism of
abiraterone
, meaning it could lead to an increased concentration of the drug in my system, putting me at risk for more or increased side effects. Suffice it to say, I have stopped the milk thistle.

"... the proven increase of luteinizing hormone levels after LHRH withdrawal, which is even further increased by
abiraterone
, may counteract the effects of
abiraterone
by the induction of enzymes of steroidogenesis."

I know
Abiraterone
and enzalutamide are in my future, but I'm reaching out for thoughts and comments.

Bipolar androgen therapy in men with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer after progression on enzalutamide.
These data represent the final analysis for the post-enzalutamide cohort, while two additional cohorts (post-
abiraterone
and newly castration-resistant prostate cancer) are ongoing. The trial is registered with ClinicalTrials.gov, number NCT02090114.
