Abiraterone NHS
Does anybody know if the NHS offer
abiraterone
as a first line treatment along with Zoladex? Also, I hear that doing this can be beneficial. Does anybody know how so? Why would it be any better than adding it later on as a second tier? Many thanks in advance!

What Tx options after resistance to Xtandi?
Hi, My dad (74yo) has developed resistance to Xtandi after 1year of success. now his PSA is 11 and his Dr is suggesting to just continue on Xtandi, and wait until there are symptoms to start chemo (for now he is chemo naive and never had
abiraterone
) anyone had good outcomes from some Tx after Xtandi

Abiraterone and Dietary Fat
Can anyone tell me specifically what foods interfere (amplify?) Abys effect? I understand it’s fat. Does that include only animal fat or any fat, like that associated with avocados? Also is there some minimum quantity that is required to have this effect? For example would the 1% fat milk foam I

Rucaparib in Metastatic Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer With BRCA1/2 Alteration
All patients had metastatic CRPC and had been previously treated with both a taxane-containing regimen and a novel hormone such as
abiraterone
or enzalutamide. All patients had progressive disease at the time of trial entry and all patients had a pathogenic alteration in BRCA1 or BRCA2.

Adding carboplatin to chemotherapy for mCRPC in post-second generation hormone therapy setting: Impact on response and survival
New study below. [1] "We retrospectively identified 150 mCRPC patients with disease progression on enzalutamide or
abiraterone
. Of these 150 patients, 92 patients were chemo-naïve while 58 patients had previously received docetaxel chemotherapy before being started on second HT.

Undetectable PSA but urinalysis show traces of blood, Leucocytes (ESTERASE) and protein present
Due to the covid situation our MO does not visit the hospital - we do telephonic consultation with him - When we forwarded the report to him he told us they were fine and to continue
abiraterone
and to hold zometa injection as we had the dental caps to replace.

Why Abiraterone over Docetaxyl
to have been put on
Abiraterone
after becoming mCRPCa as I have private care whereas the normal treatment by NHS in the UK would be Docetaxyl. I have read that docetaxyl can eliminate all cancer including bone mets and
Abiraterone
(Zytiga) only halts the progression/spread. Is this correct?

Hesitation before switching from Abiraterone to some other protocol.
I have been discussing and considering that
Abiraterone
might be failing. It seems that a steady level in the 4 range for the previous 11 months has moved to the 6 range. July lab results arrived yesterday. I switched from prednisone to dexamethasone in the last week of June.

Abiraterone failing...Xtandi next best step?
Started on lupron/

/prednisone and Xgeva infusions every 3 months. PSA lowered to 63.6 then 38.9 to 1.2 in December. PSA was 1.6 in January, 2.4 in February and 14.1 in May. Doctor wants to change from
abiraterone
to Xtandi. Has anyone had success with Xtandi?

Treatment after chemo - PARP inhibitor or immunotherapy trial?
I've taken Xtandi and
Abiraterone
. I had Provenge in 2016. I have discussed the next step with my MO at MD Anderson. One option is a PARP inhibitor.

PARP Inhibitors for Metastatic Castration-Resistant Prostate CancerInterview with Oliver Sartor MD
All the patients, in essence, were pretreated with
abiraterone
and enzalutamide, and they may or may not have been pretreated for docetaxel. The patients included not only BRCA1 and BRCA2, but in a “cohort A” also included patients with a deleterious mutation in ATM.

A new chapter
Began ADT &
abiraterone
in Jan. '19, followed by RT on LNs. Continued ADT/
abiraterone
combo through yesterday. PSA has been undetectable since ADT began. My plan of attack was formulated 18 months ago by my local RO and Dr. Zietman at MGH with the intent of being curative.

To state the obvious: early use of Zytiga or Xtandi extends survival in APC

with the development of treatment-emergent small cell neuroendocrine prostate cancer (t-SCNC) in a minority of patients, multiple studies have confirmed the long-term benefit of
