Exclusive Designer condition !

I was diagnosed last year and it wasn't too much of a shock as I had suspected it for about a year! However I think my husband was shocked and didn't take it too well.

Earlier this year we sold our small holding where we bred geese, peacocks and guinea fowl. We had converted buildings in to holiday lets as the farm itself was once a profitable fruit farm, but cheaper imports made it unprofitable.

We sold up and move to West Wales, we have felt very welcomed. I have seen my new Consultant who seems caring as are the Parkinson's nurses and GP surgery nearby.

I patchwork quilt, and I want to learn new crafts like felting! I can still drive so hope to go to classes in the area. I was somewhat reluctant and a bit nervous about joining our local Parkinson's group, I went along and they made me very welcome.

We now live about 10 minutes from the sea and recently sat watching a beautiful bottle nose dolphin feeding in the bay.

I love gardening, but a few recent falls had sapped my confidence somewhat. I read historical novels mostly, Phillips Gregory, Daphne du Maurier,to name two, cookery books - ( I do have one small cookery book that was published) gardening books, poetry books. I also ran a poetry group before we moved away, our group performed in our local church and charity events. I write poetry and one of the worst things about my Parkinson's is that I can't write properly anymore, I start off ok and then it gets smaller and smaller. I'm going to buy a new laptop computer with speech to txt on it or put an app on it!

I've read recently that Parkinson's can be described as ' an exclusive designer condition' because everyone 's is different! I agree, the other thing I read recently was " I've got Parkinson's but it hasn't got me".
