COVID JAB

Hi. I've been isolating for over 2 years. I want to start living again but I am terrified of the Covid jab. Just wondering what are the worst reactions people have had following the jab? I have had Lupus (SLE) since around 1987. I also have scleroderma, pernicious anaemia and high blood pressure. Thank you x

Difficult decision to make: some seem to can’t wait for the next booster jab, others don’t want it.

Either way if you’re suffering AI diseases with all sorts of medications it’s best to keep shielding.

The omicron variant of Covid19 is highly transmissible so one should/must still shield from this airborne virus which can be caught from infected people mainly in crowded, indoor spaces without ventilation. Take care!

“Living again”? can mean all sorts! The virus is still out there.

Hello! I waited until 2022 to get the Covid Vaccine after isolating so much (&still am!) I wanted to go to a concert! (TFF!)&It said to enter we needed covid vaccines!! of course AFTER I got the vaccine they canceled that order! However I got the vaccine 2 days b4 the concert went to concert but after vaccine ,that eve, I had a very strange pain in my back, lung area! I was scared I had Pneumonia or blood clot as I get both easily! 2 days after concert that pain in lungs were so bad I had to go to hospital! It also felt I had broken ribs!& I got dressed finally first time since concert as I was wiped out & tired! When I was getting out of pajamas I looked down & boom I had a very nasty shingles rash! This was my 5th shingles but first time I had had it since 2005! Ugh well at the hospital the Dr said I had Moderna vaccine for covid & said he had treated 40 patients for shingles who had Moderna brand vaccine! My daughter looked it up online and showed me that yep! It was causing many to get a shingles rash! My brother got an extremely bad case of Miniers' disease! He had ringing in ears&the world spinning he was crawling to the bathroom! His specialist said that a covid vaccine is such an immune response boost to our system that ppl can get odd problems afterwards! I wld also look online to see what does CDC or WHO say about Ppl w Lupus getting Vaccine? In 2023 when I got Pneumonia vaccine I also broke out in shingles again! The 6th time of having shingles! I did not have such a nasty rash but the broken ribs feeling & lung blood clot feeling was horrible! I will never get a vaccine again for fear of shingles& I had broken ribs feeling for 8 months! They even diagnosed it as Slipping Rib Syndrome?!! Ugh! Ihave have been blessed and haven't had covid19! I wish you luck and be of peace with any decision you make! I take prednisone since 1987 for lupus and mctd & drs think maybe it helps me not catch covid?? I do isolate quote a bit! The pandemic has changed my mom's and my life by just laying in bed ugh blessings to you!

If you could ask a lupus researcher one question what would it be?

I will ask the researchers some questions from here and post the answers later :o)

How long did it take for you to get a definitive diagnosis of lupus?

This should be the time from the first symptoms and you going to a medical professional to find out...
