Attempting to sit a patient up too soon following loss of consciousness will result in what appears to be faint, after faint, after faint, when in fact it is only one faint. When someone faints we advise not to sit the patient up but place them in the recovery position on their side (to aid breathing) until they feel ready to sit up. Don’t forget, however, if you faint once or several times without explanation then please seek a doctor’s advice.
