Hi my daughter was admitted into hospital since Boxing Day as she was fainting every 2seconds through out the day after 2days of fainting episodes they turned into seizures every minute it is now the 2nd of Jan 2016 and is still having seizures throughout the day with 2min breaks in between. I am very worried now as she is now bed ridden.

Morning sorry to hear about your daughter as a parent it's such a worrying time. My son suffers low blood pressure & faints at random times & places. 2 years ago when he fainted & woke up shaking this lead to a time in our life I would never want to return. He then proceeded to have seizures that lastest 1-2 mins then a break for sometimes only up to 30seconds then the seizures would start again. He was admitted to hospital where they assured me its was his body just going into a coping mechanism with the everyday stress of life & coping of his Vasovagal Syncope condition. This lastest continuously for 3 weeks if your daughter is suffering the same thing (anxiety worried this could all be sub conscientiously) please be assured it will pass it takes lots of encouragement & reassurance from everybody around her, it will pass be strong she needs you so much. The seizures just got less n less by the day at the end and then never happened since. Good luck hope everything works out well & quickly for you all.

Keep posting your concerns there are always people around you for support.

Take care xx

Hi we were suppose to take her home for the night yesterday and she was also suppose to have gone to her school for an 1hr today but her seizures have suddenly started continuously with 2 second breaks . I think the thought of having to go back into school for even an hour has affected her.

Hi I've been through it with my daughter. how old is your daughter? My daughter developed PoTS suddenly when she was 13. We quickly became accustomed to the typical PoTS event as we called them. She would convulse when she fainted. However then began a phase of emotionally trigged events. We felt the trauma of developing PoTS and the physical experience of fainting and convulsing sent her poor little system- psychological emotional and physical into - overdrive. I work in mental health and was aware that particularly traumatised young women can experience these episodes. With deep seated historic trauma this can be on going. more recent trauma of this nature can usually be worked through in 6 mths. almost to the day these emotionally triggered events stopped. I must admit we through the rule book out. Our daughter often experienced these emotional events at bed time- so we let her sleep with us on the nights she needed to. and encouraged her to go back to her room on the nights she felt able to. School and other areas of her life had been going well at that time so we felt pretty sure it was in response to having to face this illness. She had counselling arranged through the hospital for young people diagnosed with on-going conditions. This and subsequent counselling helped. Support encouragement and believing in them- that they want to get their young lives going again is so important. We all felt as through we were going crazy sometimes. Obviously your medics need to get the right treatment in place and then accept that this well change over time. My daughter has lost out on a lot- but she now is in college doing A levels despite missing a lot of school. get all the support you can.

I'll check in and see how you are going. It's hard and I wish you your child and family all the very best.- Kathy
