Start slow. I recommend waking but stretch first. Start with 5-10 minutes each session and build up. The first step in your journey to health is taking the first step.
You have already taken the first step by recognizing where you are and what you need to do. With your eating, start working on portion control and avoidance of sugary drinks. For portions, no serving of food larger than your fist. Try to take your major meal in the middle of the day or make sure you get an evening walk after dinner.
For exercise walking is a good start beginning slowly with short distances and building up to 30 min at a brisk pace. Try to walk 5 days per week. Use your smartphone or a step counter to keep track of your progress.
Get a friend to take this journey with you. You both will benefit from the experience.

I have some pain in my back and legs. My physical therapist has given me senior exercises to do twice daily. They are very easy and seem to help. You might check with your doctor to see what he recommends.
