Hi there just trying couch to 5k. I’ve been suffering with an ankle / leg injury for about 3 years now. Was diagnosed as a tendon apathy although I think I may have torn something in my calf. Physio and exercises did not make any difference and just made it hurt. I’m trying couch to 5k as a very gentle way to train my leg and hopefully strengthen it. Just got to the end of week 4 my leg hurts after running but seems to recover after a day although still feels a bit odd. I’m running on a field with pretty soft ground and also have bought new very cushioned trainers. The pain is strange and sometimes runs all the way up my leg into my back side and some times feel it in the arch of my foot And toes which feel like aggravated nerves. Quite strange and unpredictable and sometimes seems better after running oddly. I’m just trying to keep going but am a bit worried about damaging myself so thought I’d share this and see if anyone has had a similar experience. I keep hearing that the only way to make this kind of injury better is to gradually increase the load and to keep exercising. I feel a bit self indulgent posting all of this but it’s been a struggle And I just think that it’s important to health and well being to keep exercising as the years pass. Anyway would appreciate any advice or folk with a similar experience.
Thanks in advance
