Melanoma Groin Dissection

Hi

I recently had a groin dissection for melanoma & had 5 lymph nodes removed , I’m told the cancer was in just one of those. & I am now being offered Immunotherapy but when I read all the side effects one actually being skin cancer itself , I am not sure whether to have this or just have scans to check for reoccurrence . Can anyone offer any advice please . The odd thing with me is I had a mole which was malignant over 20 years ago which was removed & hadn’t gone inside my body so this came back after 20 years in my groin .

Hi Yogachamp,

I'm afraid I can't offer you any advice on your problem, as I'm new to all this melanoma stuff, having had just one removed a bit over a year ago. I do empathise though and hope you now have some answers. All the very best to you moving forward.

Hi FernsongThank you for your kind words , turns out as my scans did not show cancer had spread thankfully I will now be having regular scans & skin checks so immunotherapy was not recommended for me . Good luck to you too as all we can do is hope it doesn’t come back.
