Has anyone tried Emotional Freedom Technique? It really improves my emotional acceptance and reduces my stress. Look it up

I did an MBSR course and it was fantastic. It is an evidence based approach to managing chronic illness. It was amazing self care. I recommend this but you have to find someone trained int delivering the 8 week course.

I haven't heard about this but I will look it up so thanks. At the moment I have got huge problems accepting my condition (despite having been ill with lupus stuff since my teens). I was only officially diagnosed with Sjogrens last August after having various health problems over the past 3 or 4 years and it seems to have kicked off horrendous health anxiety. I am so fearful over every ache and pain and my logical self is completely unable to overcome it. I have spoken to my GP and been referred for a session of counselling followed by group sessions (it's what they do where I am here in the UK) - totally hopeless and didn't deal with the underlying issues at all. I think I will have to spend some money on getting help but it's so hard to know what would be money well spent and what would be useless.

The anxiety is part of the disease, I am sure of this as I have read about many cases as well as experienced it. My treatment of methotrexate (I get rheumatoid arthritis as well) has dampened all my symptoms including the anxiety but the EFT also helps accept yourself and really helped me calm down. I think the anxiety is almost worse than all the pain I was having. I hope this helps!
