I have been experiencing blurred vision for a few years now. I had met with a surgery a few years back and had a blow to my head. A part of my optic nerve was damaged, because of which I have been losing vision. I started wearing glasses to correct it, but I not at ease with wearing spectacles. I mostly try to avoid them and have started avoiding situations where it is required. I have stopped going to the movies and dining in restaurants with menus posted on the wall because I can’t read them. Contacts have never worked for me, because I would forget to take them out at night, because of which my eyes get very irritated. Doing a Lasik surgery, seem like, a better option now. Would you guys fancy recommending Lasik centers in Boston? My previous doctor suggested, not to perform eye correction surgery considering my medical record. I prefer to take a second opinion from Lasik eye surgery experts in Boston[avantlasikspa.com]. Would you care to provide your recommendations? Please do provide me with your valuable feedback on its pros and cons. Thank you.

Hi Olivegray, sorry to hear of your problems. I am not a doctor so can't give you medical advice. However, if your poor sight is due to optic nerve damage, LASIK surgery, which I assume to be laser treatment, will not help you. Laser surgery can correct vision problems due to refraction errors which are caused by the lens in your eye not working properly. It can't fix a damaged optic nerve. Perhaps you could ask your doctor for a referral to your local eye hospital where you will receive good advice. Remember that companies like LASIK are private companies who exist to make a profit; I would think very carefully before you trust them with your money or your eye sight.
