What is the longest time someone has been on ibrance?

Just curious time-wise! I understand everyone is different. For those of you who have been on it what did you switch to after it stopped working?

Hi Jac, I have been on Ibrance and letrozole for 2 years and 8 months. I'm still on it but the side effects....v low neutrophils have been getting worse. I have 10 days off inbetween rather than 7. Hope that helps. Fay

I have been on the Ibrance and Letrozole combination for 17 months . Have had lower white cell blood count and fatigue . Still tolerating 125mg dose per day and Letrozole 2.5mg per day. My last pet scan showed NED which is amazing as I was diagnosed MBC to the lung and lymph nodes at the base of my neck and a spot on my spin. Feeling so good hope this wonder drug keeps my cancer at bay .

Sadly, I only got about 11 months out of my Ibrance/Faslodex combo before it stopped working for me. I'm on my third round of Xeloda. I've been very lucky with the side effects so far. A little hand and foot syndrome and quite a bit of nausea with the first round but it turned out to be reflux making me sick so we added Pepcid AC twice daily. I'm already having a bit of breakthrough pain from my abdominal mets on my off week so I fear this also might not be the med for me.

In May I will be on Ibrance for 5 years. I started at 125 but after one month switched to 100 due to extremely low blood counts and extreme fatigue. Original combo was with exemestane for 3 plus years then switched to letrozole for 3 months and then Faslodex. Each time we switched the combo it was due to progression. In the 5 years, I have had several times where I have had to take an extra week or two off from Ibrance but then began it up again. Hope this helps. Blessings !!

Because it lowers your blood counts does it also affect your immune system?

My WBC is what drops the most as well as platelets so my immune system is affected. but I use caution and have not gotten sick more than an average person.

I’m reading thru old posts and saw yours. What did you switch to after ibrance stopped working . I’m almost at6 years and it has stopped. My onc’s recommendation is Afinitor. I’m nervous! Thx .

I actually made 6 1/2 years with Ibrance...and I miss it! I went to Piqray, did not make 1 cycle due to multi side effects that about did me in. Then on to Afinitor and Aromisin, again only made 1 cycle, ended up in ER with super high blood pressure. On to Xeloda for about 9 cycles, I don't think it did anything for me. Just started Afinitor again, but this time with Letrozole, doing pretty good this time around. I hope I can stay with this or find something else that lasts as long as Ibrance did. Good luck, I hope you find something that works as long as Ibrance, and even better, works longer! Melinda
