When I was first diagnosed back in November of 2018, I was prescribed Kisqali. The doc said it caused less blood clots than Ibrance. I found it pretty easy to take with only a few days of being lethargic each month. I did have to reduce from the initial dose once. It brought me almost two years of NED before I had progression. I was very pleased with that just wished it could have continued.

I now take Xeloda which I find very difficult on my digestive system.

Let me know if I can answer any questions for you.

Best,

Audrey

Thank you so much Audrey! May I ask where you had mets to?

When I was first diagnosed I had mets in the bones and pretty much all over the pelvis, spine, and even in the skull. The progression diagnosed recently is in the lining of my stomach.

I believe I started Kisqali at 600 mg and lowered to 400 mg after 2 months.

I did found it much easier to take and certainly more predictable than Xeloda. It is expensive though. My doc at the time got approvals and it did not cost me anything. I was going to a comprehensive breast cancer care center and they knew how to do things like that. I have since moved to a smaller town so I'm sort of on my own for about everything now.

I'll keep you in my prayers, thank you. Were you a candidate for radiation?

Yes, I did have 10 treatments early on for pain but I also think it helped with the cancer cells too.

Do you have lobular bc? It does metastasize to places like the lining of the stomach. It was recently found in one of my ureters (tube between the kidney and bladder) and now in quite a few of my lymph nodes. Lobular bc is less common than ductal but mine has responded really well to the usual meds used for E + her2neu - bc.

I do not have lobular. I have ductal with HR+/HER2- and yes it is unusual for this type to spread to the stomach lining.
