Keira! Congratulations! That's so wonderful! I'm so impressed by the talents of some of our members! It's actually motivating me to find and cultivate some hidden talent I might have...no luck so far, though! :)

Again, congratulations, and thanks for sharing!

That's a lovely badge of recognition! Congratulations! I grew up on the West Coast where Guide Dogs were common, and then moved to the MIdwest where Leader Dogs are common and only learned later that the generic term for dogs that lead/guide people who cannot see is "dog guide" and that it can be insulting to use the "wrong" term. And now there are dogs with alot of different labels and some aren't really professionally trained. I sure know that a loving dog on my lap is soothing but I sure wouldn't be able to rely on either of our dogs for anykind of guidance! They'd have me in the kitchen 24/7! Maybe your dog guide poetry would be welcome at Leader Dogs and other dog guide organizations. Shelters, too? Schools for the Blind? What religious magazine publishes your poetry? I see quite a bit of poetry in The Christian Century. It might be another avenue for you to explore, if it fits your theology.

Thanks, my own dog is a labrador she would either guide me to kitchen or to her tennis ball lol. My religious poetry is only published in my church magazine so goes out into local community but everyone tells me they love them. I am campaigner for Guide dogs that's why I started writing them for them and my partner has a guide dog.

Poetry is truly beautiful - amazingly my late 91 year old mum with dementia could not remember what she had for breakfast just 5 mins later...but recited poetry word perfect from her school days ❤️ Xx

I always find it amazing how people with dementia remember every little detail about their past when I worked with them loved hearing about their past lives and those teaching me the old songs

Congratulations. It must be a good feeling to know that you are doing your part and to be recognized for it.
