Rewriting the SCLC Narrative

The short story is the best: after an accident I was diagnosed with inoperable stage IV non-small cell lung cancer in October 2020. Beginning immunotherapy that same month by April 2021, a mere seven months later, there was no longer any evidence of disease. Is that hope? Perhaps for others, but for me that is reality. My cancer journey was months not years and had no side effects whatsoever. As I tell people, I have had colds, flu, and sinus infections that have laid me out worse than cancer and the treatment for it. We have made tremendous strides in the treatment of cancer and I am LIVING proof of that. We need to begin rewriting that stereotypical cancer narrative and realize the new realities of treatment and care.

Agreed! Immunotherapy is making a huge difference in both small cell and non small cell lung cancers. Thank you.
