Is anyone using steroid creams on the face to deal with sarcoidosis outbreaks upon the advice of their GP? Can sarcoidosis be found on the scalp? I have had eczema previously but unclear how do I recognise the difference between sarcoidosis and eczema?
Sarcoidosis - I'm new: Is anyone using steroid... - SarcoidosisUK
Sarcoidosis - I'm new
No - I don't have any facial skin conditions however I do have scalp skin problems where I use a steroid shampoo daily.
Not working though....
Been on it a week - and no change yet - I will give it another three weeks and if it isn't any better- discontinue use.
Hi Melek56 , I cant believe it, for some years well decades had skin problems, even told I had skin cancer on my face by my nose it was removed and it wasnt cancer just big and bled a lot. This year had ct scans on lungs showing findings consistent with sarcoidosis, have not had any cameras or biopsies done , my gp is annoyed, but it is not him having it done. I was told it isnt cancer. Getting back to the skin problems i use anti biotic gel called clyndamycin,it doesnt get rid of them but helps. sometimes I have to go on oral anti biotics , have fucidin cream for hands , caneston cream for other areas. my scalp gets itchy a lot, my bellybutton gets infected ,need anti biotics. I am 58, I use concealer a lot on my face ,rio do a good one,it has mixers to do it properly. I dont know whether to use steriod cream on my face, find it helpful in other areas but worried about using it on face.
I have sarcoidosis on my face as well as other areas. I was given steroid creams but decided not to use them. I have heard from others that it can cause thinning of the skin and other side effects. I use the creams on my arms and legs but not my face. I use naturally acting oils to soften them on my face and use a good concealer (green then skin colour) .
