Good morning, All.
This past year, I first was prescribed Lyrica (pregabalin) standard dose for RLS. The prescriptions were made or endorsed by one general practice physician and by two neurologists. Most recently, the dosing was two divided doses of 75 mg each, with the objective of relieving the worst of my suffering (late evening/early morning). This compromise was determined to be best.
While surfing the 'net just now, I was surprised to find that more than five years ago (October 2017), the US FDA had approved an extended release version of Lyrica. To be sure, the equivalent dosing information posted by Lyrica is inscrutable to me, variously suggesting that Lyrica CR is equivalent to two or three times the standard dose of the same quantity of Lyrica, but then adding footnotes to suggest otherwise. labeling.pfizer.com/ShowLab... Nevertheless, Lyrica CR does offer the convenience and benefit of round-the-clock relief.
My current dose and dosing of standard Lyrcia provides substantial relief when it works, but leaves major gaps in its duration of coverage. If any of you have used Lyrica CR for RLS, I would welcome any comments regarding your experiences with same.
Be well.
