I have suffered with RLS for about 14 years and in last couple of years this has got worse. I wondered if anyone might know of a specialist in this field in the Sussex, Kent, London areas. It really is now driving me up the wall and I feel so depressed about all this. If anyone has any info that would be so much appreciated.
Many thanks.

I can't help you on your search for a specialist, but possibly on your RLS. Are you taking any medicines or OTC supplements? Many can make it worse. If you list them I can tell you whether they are safe for RLS and if not perhaps provide a substitute. Also have you had your ferritin checked?
Before you see a specialist, you might be able to resolve RLS by raising your iron levels and stopping any meds that cause RLS.Raising serum ferritin resolves RLS in the majority of cases.
The best specialist in the London area is Prof. Walker at Queen Sq. His NHS waiting list is over a year but he will see you privately faster. He will prescribe iron infusions if your ferritin is below 100 and is aware of the dangers of dopamine agonists like Ropinirole and Pramipexole.
In addition to Sue's and Jools' replies, please read carefully the updated guidelines for the treatment of RLS, published about a year ago in the Mayo Clinic Proceedings:
