Duloxatine can aggravate rls symptoms. The best antidepressant for RLS isWellbutrin(Bupropion)
Sounds tough. I had discs touching the spine and pain in back and lower limbs for a while. I considered an operation but it wasn’t bad enough to take the risk of complications. I did a lot of reading and it seems in many cases recovery rates are the same whether you have surgery or not. In bad cases however if the discs are pressing hard on the spine then an op could be the only option. I took Lyrica but just 300 mg a day which is a significant dose, 600 mg a day sounds very high. Lyrica did help quite a lot but it didn’t remove all the pain or nerve sensations. I got help from the NHS Pain Clinic and eventually went on my 12 day “workshop“ to help manage back pain which at the time felt like they were just telling me I had to live with it, but while that was partly the aim, what I now realise is that it also taught me to manage it and pace myself and over the next two years it gradually improved to the point where I can now do most things I want and I only get pain or nerve sensations if I do something silly. I lost some weight to reduce the strain in the back and did careful exercise. I was told a lot that your back is very strong and and also that it will try to heal and eventually that turned out to be true. Meditation also helped me accept where I was and just enjoy the positives e.g. if I could sit or lie without pain I’d enjoy that and realise that it showed the pain wasn’t permanent and it could change for the better. It depends on how severe your situation is though and in some cases surgery is the best option. Your doctor is normally the place to start.
I'm sorry to hear that you're in such pain.Do you have RLS? I suspect not as you mention no pain when lying down. RLS makes lying down/ keeping still impossible.
I think you may get better answers from a pain relief help site.
Pregabalin for RLS is usually 300mg maximum, taken at night only and all anti depressants make RLS much worse ( except wellbutrin and trazodone).
You may want to consider physical rehabilitation as mentioned by Munroist.
I hope you find a solution to your difficult situation.
I’m so sorry to hear about your terrible pain. Is this only a very recent problem or has it been bad for a long time? Have you been told that you need spinal surgery?
