Thank you Manerva for your advice I have decided not to take anymore Mucuna due to augmentation risk. However I have seen posts about gabapentin for RLS that appears to be a better medicine with less augmentation risk. Is this something I should consider in changing medication?

Gabapentin vs Ropinerole
I have ‘severe’ restless legs but am going through a relatively peaceful period at the moment.Medication: gabapentin 1500 mg and a 24 hourly 2mg Rotigotine patch.
I was on a high dose of ropinerole (4 mg) for two years which I thought a ‘wonder’ drug for the first six weeks until augmentation set in. I think my GP probably knew little, if nothing, about augmentation but a visit to a neurologist advised gradual withdrawal from ropinerole and replacing with Rotigotine which is less likely to cause augmentation. So far so good with the very occasional twitch.
RLS at its worse meant I was unable to go any cinema or theatre performances, watch television, sit on a plane for even a short flight and of course meant in and out of bed
, walking throughout the night.
In answer to your question I don’t think, based on my experience, that the Gabapentin caused augmentation.
I have been on every kind of medication including gabapentin and nothing has ever worked. I have had severe rls for 40 years. My dr. Prescribed 50 ml of trazodode it helps me sleep better and I started smoking Granddaddy purple and it actually settles my legs right and I only need a couple of puffs a night.
Taking these two things has helped me more than any medication I have tried. And no augmentation.
