Hello everyone.

Do you think the stresam could have worsened the symptoms of RLS?

I was prescribed it by a neurologist for anxiety and it caused an internal itch.

Thank you, I read it. I have not taken it for 7 days, and the internal itching persists. Is this supposed to pass?

I have no idea, sorry. You would need to ask your doctor or pharmacist.

A quick look on line shows it as a variation of a benzodiazepine that is used in many countries through the world for anxiety issues and there is research for its use on pain.

I would imagine if it caused a worsening of RLS symptoms then things would have resolved when the drug left the system as in the case of antihistamines. I see in the link Joolsg posted there was a worsening of restless legs after 1 dose of the drug but it doesn't mention if it persisted.

How long did you take it for and how soon after you started taking it did the itching and increase in RLS symptoms begin?

I took it for 9 days at a dose of 50 mg per day. I haven't taken it in a week. The deterioration began on day 6.

The half life for the metabolites is around 20 hours so you should be well through it by now, especially since you only took 50 mg for 9 days.

Could there be any other explanations for the itching? I can't seem to find any references to itching.
