Just wondering if anyone knows of a more recent study? Even though its dated 2006, it makes interesting reading and advocates medication rotation.

Looks interesting, thanks.
I would be very interested in knowing this information too because I have been on Requip (ropinirole) for 20 years and am now experiencing augmentation like crazy. it is absolutely horrible! Thanks all.
I wonder why a rotational approach is not used more widely to extend the efficacious period of dopamine agonists.
I am currently experimenting with rotating between neupro and kratom but I am doing this off my own bat - not with medical approval (obviously, as medical establishment could not recommend Kratom - it being illegal).
I appreciate I am lucky that my RLS responds to kratom petty much as a mono-therapy, since I got my serum ferritin levels up. Good though it is however, kratom is not as effective as neupro which reliably sees off all discomfort at 1 mg ... but only for a while - then I start to have breakthrough RLS and it's time to go back to kratom. There are benefits and downsides to both regimes but the big bonus of using the two rotationally is that I keep dosage - and consequently side effects and danger of habituation/augmentation - to a minimum.
You have to do the med rotation before augmentation sets in. I do know some people who already do rotation with their meds.
Yes - I don't think it would work once augmentation sets it. Although I know of two people with severe RLS who augmented on mirapexin, took a long drug holiday and then resumed on the lowest dose. In one case, she can only take it for short periods before she finds she needs more than the minimum at which point she stops mirapexin and increases her opioid for a while. The other guy has not found his need for mirapexin has increased beyond the minimum dose.
I did augment on mirapexin but was off it for over three months before I started neupro. I don't think I have augmented on neupro. I think the need for more kicks in after a few weeks because 1mg is a very low dose for my RLS and I develop a degree of tolerance to it. A week or two off it, on kratom or whatever, seems to reset my system and 1mg works again for a while. I am hoping to stick with this system for a while.
