Hi Josey -
So sorry for your wife's discomfort. I can tell you what I have done if that would help -- after 30 years of living with RLS, I can say that I have it mostly controlled. I used to work with neurologists who would give me lots of PD meds to manage it. What I found was I would need to titrate up and off of them in a couple of months periods and it was all a bit much. I struggled with rebound when I was on them --- each making my symptoms worse. Now I only take neuronton (600 mgs) before bed and importantly, I use L-trptophan. I take 1500 mg (but know some people slowly increase up to 2,500, but I haven't had the need to do this) of it every night. It overrides my symptoms enough to go to sleep. I also have bed time rituals, like bathing very night, and this makes it all doable. the other medicines made me worse. the amino acid I buy at the vitamin shoppe and it works. Hope this helps! Best to you!
