My mother has run out of 60mg MST, withdrawal is hitting her hard, I don't know what do to

My mother suffers with chronic pain, she has scederma which is terminal, she has been taking 60mg of morphine for at least 12 years. There was additional 10mg added for breakthru. Problem is, she has none left. She vomits and has probably lost 32 tablets in the last few weeks. Dr's prescribed cyclizine, but when I asked for more morphine they said no.

She took her last yesterday and is now in full blown withdrawal. She does get her script early due to her vomiting them up, they are the continus type and gp has said its OK to take another.

With all this going on, I don't know what to do. It's gonna be Tuesday before she can get more and that's if they even are willing to prescribe. Her script is due in 11 days.

Is there anything I can do to make her feel better, she's getting ill as the hours go on.

Also she broke her hip in Dec so is in a lot of pain from that so if she vomits up a tablet she's in agony so takes another. Is she doing wrong?

Would going up a&e at this time help or just make things worse as her immune system is very low and she's high risk...

Any advice would be appreciated

No forgiveness required.

I am so sorry you are facing this issue.

Such withdrawals are serious.

Especially with folk whose health is already compromised.

I do hope you get through to some help.

Warmly

Kevin

Telephone your GP - They should still have an out of hours service.

Failing that telephone 111.

You have an emergency. Tell them so, they will understand.

Best to you.
