Is it worth getting a second opinion from an oncologist within the same network but different location?

There's always a benefit to have another person look at your situation; but I sure would agree with the implication of your question. The chances of "group think" or "institutional policy" override are significant. When seeking a 2nd opinion I'd look for a researh institution with diverse projects and a maverick or two are welcome.

Actually, I did both - met with docs at another institution (because of potential "group think" from one) and got second opinion from doc at same hospital. I ended up seeing 2 uro, 2 RO and 1 medical oncologist.
