It has been 3 years since my HDR Brachytherapy, and Viagra still works for me, although the day after, I have problems with stomach cramps and diarrhea.
I have found that I need to take it on an empty stomach to be effective, and I have tried taking Pepto Bismol tablets beforehand, but it really doesn't help.
Has anyone else had this problem, and have you found anything that can be done to reduce this side effect?

Hey PC. I am also 3 years post-treatment (SBRT). I found that Viagra has worked for me but made me feel flushed and dizzy and I didn't like it. I had used Cialis (Tadalafil) before SBRT and it did not have any side-effects but it seemed to be less effective after SBRT. Fast forward 3 years and Cialis seems to work again and I have stopped using Viagra.
Note 1 - I found that Viagra is effective 30 minutes after using while Cialis takes several hours to work. However, Cialis seems to last longer.
Note 2 - At my 3 year check up with the RO last month he said that food definitely interferes with Viagra and to eat less (or none) prior to using or to take more Viagra.
Generic Cialis is much better imho. I suggest just letting it dissolve in your mouth, after a light snack. Your mouth, gums , etc will absorb it into your bloodstream. Takes an hour to take effect, and seems to last 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
Thanks for your response, but I have tried Cialis a few times and found that it is not as effective as Viagra and has the same, if not worse side effects.
You can eat something after you feel it kick in good. Sandwich 🥪 or something to make your tummy feel better and give you some energy! Have a good one , lol
