I am almost 21 weeks and havnt felt any movement yet, I am a size 20 does this affect it?
Is this your 1st pregnancy?
It can be hard to tell the difference between a movement & a slight stomach cramp at times of pregnancy.
you mentioned you are 20wks gone which means you've probably also had your 1st scan. How did that go? Did the sonographer raise any concerns at the time of that scan.
I remember a midwife telling me a very good way of getting a quiet baby to move is to drink some ice cold water.
xx
Hello larger ladies *can* feel less movements from their babes but lots of other things can affect this too - the position of the placenta could be cushioning your baby's kicks, baby might be facing into your back or even being a very busy person can distract you from feeling anything!
Remember baby is still dinky so you'll probably start feeling more as he/she grows, and I'm sure it'll be hoofing you very uncomfortably before you know it so try not to worry!
During my first pregnancy I started feeling flutters at 17 weeks but was well into the 20's (22-23 I think) before I felt 'proper' kicks and even longer before daddy could feel them so give it time x
Thanks ladies, yes this is my first. I have my next scan on Monday so I might ask then. Had a scan at 17weeks and everything was fine.
My placenta is at the front 'anterior' so cushions alot of moves, but now at 28 weeks I feel him most of the day and night itch quiet times.
Size I think can affect you feeling baby as we are more cushioned, I'm a size 16 now, I would say I really began to feel ban move around 22 weeks
Hello, on my first I was trying not to get worried as everyone was telling me how they felt movement from about 17 weeks, I got my first flutter at 22 weeks and still wasn't convinced it was the baby! Just give it time and I'm sure you'll feel them moving soon, but definitely mention it at your next scan just to put your mind at rest xx
