Weight loss
Hi Mrs Turner, I was also really sick in my first trimester, but luckily I could eat, but I do take a multi-supplement just in case. My slim friend had hyperemesis gravidarum and lost two stone throughout her pregnancy. She was regularly hospitalised , but went on to have a healthy little girl who is now two years old. I was wondering if you are still sick and whether this is stopping you putting on weight. If so, you might want to contact your GP to see if you are dehydrated. However, maybe you had a high BMI at the beginning and therefore have reserves. Everybody starts off with a different BMI. Your midwife should have given you an estimation of the amount of weight you will put on. For example, my BMI is is 20 and I'm expected to put on 11-14 kg throughout my pregnancy. Most of this weight gain will be at the end. I will do this eating my normal diet and towards the end increasing my calorific intake by 200cals, or two digestives a day. Hope this is helpful.
