With stopping smoking, I am only 5 weeks but I feel really bad for smoking but I'm finding it difficult. I don't see the midwife for 2 weeks but I feel guilty. Always thought it would be easier because I would be doing it for my baby! Any suggestions?

Good for you to want to actually stop smoking for your baby. I can understand this must be hard to completely stop ad go cold turkey. Maybe at this time just try to cut down as much as you can. The NHS offers advice to stop smoking maybe have a look and see if you can find answers from there smokefree.nhs.uk
All the best of luck
I had the same problem When i found out I was pregnant and went and bought one of those E cigs but found when I got to 6/7 weeks I couldnt stand the thought of nicotine/smoking. I think it must have been my body telling me to stop as i havent even touched an E cig since let alone a normal one. I am 15 weeks now and totally smoke free....you'll get there just keep thinking about the life inside you
I found the same thing as camipod - I didnt want to smoke even though I enjoyed it before I was pregnant.
It made me feel sick to even think about it.
I would suggest either speaking to a pharmacist for advice or calling the smoke free helpline. They will be able to help if you are really struggling.
Do you have a member of the family or a friend that will give up with you as some support?
I hope that you are able to stop - think of all the extra things you will be able to buy for the baby instead of buying tabacco.
Best Wishes
Are you trying to do this alone? Speak to your GP and see if there is a local stop smoking service that has one to one or group support. It might help you to keep motivated. Well done for doing this, as an ex smoker I know how hard it can be to give it up. Good luck with it!
