Help! I think leap 9 has arrived

Hello there!

We have a very active nearly 14 month old who in the last couple of month has started to sleep much better after a challenging start…..up until the last few nights. Because of the fact his sleep was always so bad we could never tell when he was having sleep regressions or leaps etc and was beginning to think he wasn’t that badly affected by them. Until now. He has started screaming A LOT and waking around 3 amd 5 am. He is still tired and appears to want to go to sleep. Traditionally he only wanted to fall asleep on us but now he has started settling lying in his cot with one of us placing a hand On his back. He will lay down and move occasionally but will just not fall asleep. Previously he would fall asleep within a couple of mins. Could this be part of the developmental leaps everyone is talking about and have people experienced this?

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Kind regards

Caroline
