I gave birth 3.5 weeks ago - bleeding stopped around week 1 and then been on and off since with light pinkish blood.
Since yesterday I have had bright red blood but only upon wiping on toilet roll - it doesn’t cover a pad and isn’t heavy. Just wondering if this is a normal part of the healing process? Feeling fine, no fever etc just blood when wiping! It’s just so frustrating as you think you’re coming to the end of it and it starts again.
Thanks in advance xx

Congratulations on the arrival of your little one. 😍 Yes it is quite normal to bleed up to 6 weeks after birth. Providing it's not heavy it sounds normal.you probably will bleed when you move around. The health visitor strongly advised me to take it as easy as possible in the 6 weeks after birth . Obviously longer if you had a c section Xx
Yes, get a checkup if it gets heavier or you notice a difference however I was bleeding on and off for around 10 weeks.
My bleeding stopped at around 7 weeks I think and then whenever I had a long walk or did anything strenuous (even just hoovering) it would start all over again!
I would get so annoyed 😂 but I think it’s our bodies way of making sure we don’t overdo it also, so take it easy - youve literally just had a baby ❤️
Thanks so much! I have been a lot more active the past week or so, so I’m putting it down to that 🤣 the joys of having a newborn and getting a house clean can be proven difficult haha. Take care xx
I bled for 6 weeks PP if you feel ok in yourself I wouldn’t worry too much, but if it becomes more dramatic or uncomfortable definitely call the Dr even just for reassurance!
Thank you. I’m a bit of a worrier when it comes to stuff like this - even if it is just a bit blood so I’m going to give my GP a phone this morning just to be on the safe side! Thanks again xx
