It might be useful for you to speak to a lactation consultant as there might be lots of reasons why she can't or doesn't latch from one side.

She can get everything she needs from one side even if she doesn't latch on both. My friend's little boy only ever fed from 1 boob and she breastfed him till he was about 3

Good luck x

It’s such a pain, how established are you on your breastfeeding journey? If your baby is able to get a good latch then you can get them to take the other side, but in the beginning sometimes they just find one better. I know one of my sides used to make so much milk when it first came in that it was too much for baby but then further down the line that’s the choice because it has a better flow.

If they are very hungry feed on the good side for a little minute, but you can try to get there a bit earlier when they are not starving and start them on the poor side. It’s just a case of being conscious about feeding on both sides. I’ve given up bothering because my baby is eleven months and feeding less but I would say one side is a B cup and the other a DD which is not very aesthetically pleasing. But also it’s less taxing that heaving an 11kg beast from one side to the other.

Do remember that supply equals demand for the most part so that side will produce enough to satisfy your baby so don’t stress or worry about it in that regard, you will know if they aren’t getting enough.

Good luck, and I’m sure you’re doing a great job milk machine momma

It's worth trying different position to feed. If you look online there are things you can try to trick them into thinking it's the other side. I found that my little one would only feed laid down on one side when she was little. Now she can feed in anyway and sometimes includes a bit too much gymnastics. You just need to keep trying and figuire out what works for you both, it's a skill your learning together and its different for each baby.

As already suggested, try out different breastfeeding positions, it might be uncomfortable on one side. Lying down and feeding or the natural nursing when the baby is on your belly and searches for the boob might be better.

Otherwise feeding from one boob only is possible, they just will be different in size 😁

Hi, my baby went through a phase of rejecting one side. For some reason he really took against my left breast for a bit! I found it sometimes worked to start off on the right, then quickly switch him over when I felt the milk letdown on the left. It didn't work every time, but did more often than not. Also, does your baby still reject one side during night feeds? My son was less picky at night when he was very sleepy so I always made sure to feed him from the left. For us it was just a phase thankfully, but it was very frustrating, not to mention uncomfortable, and I didn't appreciate the lopsided look!
