Can anyone tell me what this is? Photo included

I took 18 month old daughter for a scan to see what this is. The report found it was a “strawberry mark” or “Haemangioma” similar to a birthmark and is nothing to be concerned about. I would like to get a second opinion because she developed this mark around 10 months and looks nothing like the strawberry marks on google. Has anyone seen anything like this on their child? The best I can explain is that it looks like a spot (without a head) with little red veins surrounding it with a slight lump underneath. My GP is adamant there’s nothing to worry about but I’m still unsure. Should I seek a private doctor or a skin specialist?

Sorry if the photo isn’t super clear.

If you want a second opinion go ahead and get one. If you don't feel the GP and a scan is enough then I would look at a skin specialist/dermatologist. This isnt a doctor's or dermatologist forum though so I doubt anyone will give you a second opinion here.

Ok I think I will do that. Also do you know of any doctor/ dermatologist forum I can use whilst I seek a second opinion. X

Look at private hospitals in your area and ask if they have a dermatologist there, or do a Google search in area.

Hi the photo isnt the clearest, it could be haemangioma as they can develop in infancy and be varying sizes and nothing to worry about depending where they are and can generally disappear on their own. If it has veins coming off sounds like spider veins which again are harmless will disappear, if you are concerned and want a second opinion though I would speak to a paediatric dermatologist as you need someone that deals with children. If it has been scanned though i dont think it is anything to worry about as haemangiomas can grow under skin which is what they would have been looking for i presume so they obviously haven't found any evidence of this. You could pay to see a dermatologist privately they will be able to tell you pretty much straight away what they are looking at im sure 👍 xxx
