It's really hard to say what you'll need as everyone is so different. All we got for baby: boobs, nappies (we chose reusable cloth nappies), sleepsuits, car seat, pram, sling, next to me crib, baby bath, towels, muslins. Most clothes were from gifts from friends and family.

For me: nipple cream, breast pads, maternity pads chocolate hob nobs, coffee, paracetamol and ibropfen.

Those first few weeks they don't need much. Everything else you can pick up as you need them.

Buy spritz for bits! I haven’t personally had a baby yet (mines still cooking) but all my mummy friends rate it, it can be used on a csection scar if you end up with one of those too, so it covers all exits that could be sore and irritated postpartum! Also see if you can get a hold of a peribottle, it helps keep you clean down there and helps your wee sting less if you spray it as you pass urine xx

Why wouldn’t you download Bounty app. I find it very useful as it has already a list of everything you need to purchase for the baby. It also provides various discounts on vitamins, baby toys, nappies and etc. I wouldn’t recommend to buy the discounted furniture or push chairs through that app as I’m not sure about the quality, but other small things have quite good discounts.

I've never heard of that app so haven't downloaded. I'll look. Thank you

I used the bounty app list as you can tick things as you go. Bare in mind though there are things on the list that aren’t a necessity straight away, e.g they have high chair on the list! But it’s a good rough guide to go off x

I think being organised with little stuff like using little basket to make a changing station really helps in first few weeks. I also found the bedside cot invaluable especially if you’re planning on breastfeeding. You get a lot of clothes as gifts but maybe a couple of swaddles are worth buying. A nice blanket for tummy time. A boppy pillow. Lanolin Nipple cream, metanium cream is amazing for bad nappy rash, normal nappy cream and aveno body wash and coconut oil for moisturising and massage. Head to Tk max and see what you can find Ive always found them amazing for baby essentials. Get a few good big muslin cloths to use as towels mine have lasted me three years and two kids and I still use them after baths they just get softer not scratchy like towels and are quick to dry. Treat yourself to some nice comfy new pyjamas and a soft dressing gown!

It’s like a u shaped pillow that gets them in the right position so you don’t have to bend too much breaking the back. You can also use them as a tummy time prop when they’re tiny and to sit them up to feed a bottle once they’re a bit bigger so you get quite a lot of use out of them. Also invest in some nice big pillows for feeding in bed especially if you haven’t got a comfy headboard
