I’ve started getting periods following 17 months breastfeeding back in December. So far everything has seemed to be fairly clock work. I’ve got the implant in, had it since October 2018, a few months after I had my daughter.
This month I had a period the first week in March which finished on the Friday. I then had a second one start the Friday after that. I’ve been really bloated the last two weeks. I’ve never noticed my periods before, no paid, no bloating or had other symptoms. I’ve also been feeling really tired.
This is the second implant that I’ve had previously I had a period every 6 months.
Is this something anyone else has had? I’m unsure as to whether I need to worry about it or not given everything else going on with the Coronavirus right now.

Having the implant in like any protection can take a while to settle into your body and adjust. The implant is 99.9% effective (The most effective form of protection stated by the BPAS research faculty) Becoming pregnant on the implant would be very rare.
I would most likely say that it is just the hormones settling down. The implant like many types of protection can make you a little irregular while it settles, lighten your periods and Even stop them full stop.
If you are still worried I would contact your GP for advice!
Im fairly confident that I’m not pregnant. And I’ve had it 18 months so if it’s still my hormones settling from it I’d be surprised. I was definitely worrying about it at the time but going to see how this month goes.
